Hello fellow Texans and Crystal Clear customers!  I am reaching out to request your vote in the upcoming election! 

A little about me:  I have spent my life rooted in Texas values: hard work, community, and with a deep commitment to service. Born and raised in Carrizo Springs, I graduated from Sam Houston State University before settling in Geronimo in 1980, which I have proudly called my home ever since.  My career in education spanned over three decades, starting at Navarro ISD as a substitute teacher and a school bus driver.  I also spent over 30 years as a P.E. teacher at Comal ISD, where I dedicated myself to shaping the lives of young Texans. Since retiring in 2011, I have continued to serve the community, now turning my focus to one of the most vital resources we all depend on: water.

As a candidate for the Crystal Clear Special Utility Board of Directors, my mission is clear:  to fight for fair rates and responsible management.  Crystal Clear customers are currently paying nearly two times more for water than residents in surrounding areas, including San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels, San Marcos, Buda, and Kyle!  This is unacceptable!  I am committed to lowering rates and ensuring that rural families aren’t unfairly burdened by rising costs.  My goal is to make water more affordable while increasing transparency and accountability within the utility.

My vision goes beyond pricing.  I believe in creating bylaws that protect customers from overreach and abuse of power, such as being forced to sign unnecessary easements simply to receive water service.  I am determined to put an end to unchecked development approvals — especially large subdivisions with water park amenities that consume massive amounts of water — while rural residents are simultaneously asked to conserve.  I will prioritize protecting existing customers and preserving the rural character of the district rather than enabling reckless expansion at the community’s expense.

At the heart of my campaign is a simple but powerful promise: to be a voice for the people.  I understand that residents in this district want to keep their communities rural, their water affordable, and their utility accountable.  Electing me means electing someone who will fight tirelessly against high water prices, overdevelopment, and the misuse/abuse of power by Crystal Clear.  With a lifelong record of service and a deep love for my community, I am ready to stand up for the people of Crystal Clear’s district and ensure their water system serves them — not the other way around.
